AND AFTER HURRICANE KATRINA HIT I PUT TOGETHER A LARGE CREW AND WE WERE ON OUR WAY. I ENDED UP LIVING IN MISSISIPPI FOR 13 MONTHS AND DURING THAT 13 MONTHS WE PUT THE 7.3L & THE 6.0 POWER STROKE ENGINES THROUGH THE TEST THATS FOR SURE! PRIOR TO KATRINA DESTROYING EVERYTHING IN ITS PATH I JUST OWNED A BOBCAT & DEMOLITION COMPANY WHICH CONSISTED OF SEVERAL DUMP TRAILORS, 2 BOBCATS WITH 1 BEING A T190 & THE OTHER BEING A T300. THE HEAVY DUTY WORK TRUCKS I HAD BEFORE KATRINA WAS (1) 1999 F250 AND (1) 1999 F350 WITH BOTH OF THEM HAVING THE 7.3L POWER STROKE ENGINES. AFTER BEING IN MISSISIPPI FOR NEARLY 1 MONTH WITH NO WORK, WE WERE MAINLY JUST WAITING FOR FEMA TO GIVE OUT THE CLEAN UP CONTRACTS WE WERE RUNNING OUT OF MONEY, TIRED OF SLEEPING IN TENTS, LIVING IN REALLY NASTY LIVING CONDITIONS AND EATING MRE'S READY TO EAT MEALS, WHICH I HOPE I NEVER HAVE TO EAT ONE OF THOSE MEALS AGAIN! I FINALLY LANDED A CONTRACT WITH FEMA AND THEN KNEW THAT WE WERE LOOKING AT BEING THERE FOR AT LEAST 1 YEAR IF NOT MORE!! THEN THATS WHEN I HAD TO GO TO THE CLOSEST FORD DEALERSHIP AND BUY SEVERAL BRAND NEW 2006 F250 TRUCKS SO WE COULD EXPAND OUR FLEET AND THATS WHEN I WAS INTRODUCED TO THE NEW FORD 6.0L POWER STROKE ENGINES. DONT GET ME WRONG THE 6.0L WAS A GREAT ENGINE BUT THEY HAD NOTHING ON MY 2 OLDER 1999 7.3L POWER STROKE ENGINES! MY 7.3L POWER STROKES BOTH HAD WELL OVER 150,000 MILES ON THEM AND I THINK THAT 1 OF THEM WAS EVEN GETTING CLOSE TO HAVING 200,000 MILES ON IT, SOMEWHERE AROUND 190K AND IT STILL WOULD OUT PULL THE BRAND NEW 6.0L POWER STROKE ENGINES!!
